April 2024 Designer Spotlight Jeremy Sallee

In our journeys as sneakerheads, not only do most of us go through phases of appreciating designs, but also the designers. Tinker Hatfield and Virgil Abloh, among other legendary characters in these spaces, indeed ring a bell.

Nevertheless, some other names are just starting to make noise in the mainstream or simply haven’t yet been recognized for their fantastic work. In our opinion, one of these people is Jeremy Sallee.

Sallee is a designer and creative director for Puma Hoops. He is one of the most influential people currently working towards impulsing the brand to the level of the mainstream that New Balance or Reebok have.

Sallee’s passion for sneakers began at a young age. As a teenager growing up in New York City, he would often spend his weekends scouring the city’s sneaker shops, searching for the latest and most extraordinary designs. After completing his studies in fashion design, he started out at Reebok, the brand that motivated him to become a footwear designer. From there, he quickly rose through the ranks to become one of the brand’s top designers.

Sallee has continued to push the boundaries of sneaker design throughout his career, working on several innovative and eye-catching designs for Puma. Still, he has also served as a mentor to young designers and aspiring sneakerheads. He has been a guest speaker at fashion schools and industry events, sharing his insights and experiences with the next generation of sneaker designers.

If you’re into Puma or just “underdog” brands in general, Jeremy is definitely a name to keep an eye on. Make sure to follow him on IG at @jeremy.sallee.
